At Loon Lake Lodge you are surrounded by the unspoiled wilderness of the Minnesota north woods. The Gunflint Trail area, where we are located, has changed little over the years. It is much the same as it was over a hundred years ago. Lynx

Last week a guest and I went fishing with a local guide.  We went to Sag Lake which is known around the state as a great fishing lake.  We were excited to get fishing.  As we were cruising out to our fishing spot I spotted something sitting on a rock as we pasted an island.  I asked Cory,our guide, to turn around and there it was.  A beautiful lynx just sitting on a rock watching the boats go by.  I have been up here a long time but this is a first for me.

Nice Fish!!

There has been some good fishing this past month.  Two of the biggest catches have been by Wayne and Ed.  Both guys caught some very nice lake trout.

Wayne's trout was another one over 10 lbs!

 

Wayne also caught a nice smallmouth bass.
